Personal Narratives
We started a personal narrative about something in our lives. The topic could be sad, mad, a challenge, or a first. Here are some of our favorite lines so far:
"On both sides of the road tundra and rolling hills stretched out for miles on end. I thought to myself if we got in an accident we would probably have to wait for about twenty minutes for a tow truck to get there."
"Boogie boarding is amazing. The Ocean squirts water all over your face. It feels amazing."
"It felt like questions were pouring out of my mind because I was so excited."
"The first ride I went on was called Goliath. It would go straight up and then in would go straight down, doing five loops or more."
Next week we will be doing some editing. We are still thinking of a way to share our writing after we publish it.

Global Read Aloud
Global Read Aloud is where classes all over the country come together to read a book and talk about it. The book is called Fish. We don't exactly know what Fish is about yet, but we do know that it's about a character who calls him or herself Tiger. The family is leaving where they live to go to a better place because a war is coming. We are all looking forward to our first Skype about the book.
SS Slide Shows
We created slideshows about the colonial regions. Each group stood up and presented their slideshow on the SmartBoard. We noticed that people worked hard to speak loud and clear, used notecards to help them, and balancing pictures and words. Overall, everyone worked hard with the slideshows, and we're very satisfied with the work.
